David Catá

The evocative power of personal objects and photographs from his family album serve as inspiration. Through them he reflects on time, memory and the way to slow down the process of oblivion, using ephemeral elements such as ash, thread, dandelions, ... with which to create metaphors.

Sometimes his own body becomes the artistic support of his environment and experiences. The stitching and fissures made on his skin are a metaphor for the indissoluble symbiosis between the passage of time and oblivion. A work that aspires to the preservation of the past through the memorial, corporal, and photographic trace.
