Ksenia Shinkovskaya

Felt as a sculptural element is the basis on which her imagery is built, through one of the oldest forms of obtaining the textile material already existing in prehistoric times, even before the invention of weaving. She combines the ancient tradition of felting that exists in many Asian and Nordic peoples with a futuristic design in the biopunk style, a concept that develops the idea of a futuristic world, with the support of scientific discoveries, where humanity becomes a harmonious part of the biosphere.

In her pieces she combines contemporaneity and tradition, along with inserted natural elements, such as wood or glass. Charged with symbolism, she tries to bring the viewer a version of the history of mankind in which nothing is dispensable, where it is necessary to rediscover a balance between man and nature.
