María Romero Pérez
My photos are the emotional map on which I explore my boundaries. I generate portable paper constructions that are the territory in which I hold my battles, the landscapes in which I try to annex victories. But my true calling is not to Niké. My true calling is to seek. To look into memories, obsessions, fears and hopes. To dig into my lights and my shadows is just another goal to discover in order to keep on searching.
My biography is the material that assembles the pieces of paper that I assemble and then photograph, this creative act is a ritual that works as a catharsis transformed into a game.
Formally, my calligraphy, the paper and the small, transformed objects are the common denominator of my photographs. The -graphs that allow me to survive.
